Greetings all and welcome to our new clients!
Run a mailing list manager?
If you run mailing list software which was installed by our
team under our free software installation program, or if you're
running a list manager application you installed yourself on any
of the following plans:
- Net Start
- Net Launch
- Think Big
- Web Start
- Web Works
- Smart Essentials
- Business Classics
- Developer Extreme
.. I'd like to remind you all that we have a quota in place
of 2000 email pieces per month. If your requirements are above
that, you'll need to use a 3rd party service for your lists;
such as the service we offer via ThinkHost
Intellicontact.
ThinkHost Intellicontact offers a broad range of features for
lists of all sizes and mailout frequencies. You can test out the
service with a 15
day free trial.
For those of you who are under the 2,000 piece quota per
month, we'd like to ask that you run your mailings during the
evenings and on weekends wherever possible.
Thanks for your co-operation and have a great weekend!
Michael Bloch
Business Operations Manager

Meta and title tags
Meta tags contain information and directives for search
engine robots. While some search engines don't factor in
meta-tags in terms of ranking sites; it's still wise to use
them - every bit of traffic helps.
Meta tags are only viewable in the source code of your
pages; they are not visible to site visitors unless they use
the "view source" functions of their browser.
Meta Tag statement example
<META NAME="value"
CONTENT="comments">
Meta tags reside between the <HEAD> and </HEAD>
tags of your document.
The most beneficial tags:-
Keywords Meta Tag:
Example:
<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="meta
tag,guide,tutorial">
A comma separated (no spaces) list of relevant words for the
search engines to index your page. Do not to repeat the same
keyword too often - 3 occurrences is safe, but never one
directly after another. Heavy use of the same word may be
considered spamming by some search engines; as can words that
are irrelevant to the content on the page. A single phrase is
also considered to be one keyword (keyphrase).
Keep your most important keywords and phrases within the first
100 characters of this statement.
Recommended length of 500-750 characters.
Description Meta Tag:
Example:
<META NAME="description" CONTENT="A
readable, key term rich description of your page.">
The description tag is usually displayed along with the title
tag in the results pages (SERPs) of search engine queries.
Take care not to repeat terms too often to avoid being
penalized.
Keep your most important terms at the beginning of each
description meta tag statement and try to have a different
relevant statement for each page of your web site.
Recommended length of 170-200 characters
Title tag
Example:
<TITLE>Meta-tags and title tags - a brief
guide</TITLE>
Many site owners have a tendency to use statements such as
"welcome to FDFDFDF.com" as their title tag. Given
that most of the major search engines place great importance
on title tag relevancy, this is probably not a good strategy.
People will know the name of your site when they arrive, or
will see it in the URL link on the search results. As with the
description tag, it's best to use a key term rich human
readable statement.
Tip: Your title tag should also relate to your page
heading.
Recommended length of 60-90 characters
