Greetings all,

Have you tried out the new Knowledge base as yet? The ThinkHost site has grown rapidly over the past couple of years, from a couple of dozen to now a couple of hundred pages!

We thought that items may be getting a little bit difficult to find, so one of our team, Ilya, set about developing an application to organize things a little better. Roman then spent a couple of weeks in breaking up the current articles and tutorials into subject-specific chunks. The results of all their hard work can be viewed here:

If you have any feedback or ideas for articles, I'd be most appreciative if you could email me with your suggestions.

The Knowledge Base is just one way we try to assist our clients. There's also the client forums and ThinkUpdate, our network status site; not forgetting this very newsletter  - with back-issues being available in our archives.

We also have a few other projects to improve support currently in the works, including live chat - that should be implemented within a month.

As always, you can also contact support via the forms located in the left hand menus on just about every single page  on the ThinkHost site, or by simply sending an email to support@thinkhost.com. In order to ensure that your issues are resolved as quickly as possible, please take the time to review our "helping us help you" article.

We are also one step closer to launching our new account control interface - the culmination of 2 years development work! A test installation was implemented on one of our servers last week - there's just a little more fine tuning to do, and then a month of further testing to ensure what we deliver to you works perfectly! More on this soon.

Changing your mailbox password

To change your mailbox password:

  1. Log into your account control panel.
  2. Select "Edit E-Mail" on the left menu.
  3. Select the mailbox and click "Edit".
  4. Update the password by filling in the text box.
  5. Click "Save changes" to accept the new password.

Please note that it can take up to 2 hours for a new password to become active.

Dedicated IP Address - In traditional shared hosting, each domain shares the IP address of the server that domain is stored on. A dedicated IP address is a unique set of identifying numbers for a web site.
